A large number of doctors, TMO (Tehsil Medical Officers), medical officers, house officers, and nurses participated in the event. Experts shared important information regarding hypertension.
Every year, May 17 is celebrated globally as Hypertension Day. The aim of celebrating World Hypertension Day is to spread awareness about blood pressure. This year’s theme is “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer.” High blood pressure plays a significant role in the increasing death rate worldwide, and if it is not controlled in time, it can lead to heart attacks and other complications.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Muhammad Nadeem highlighted the number of hypertension patients in the world and Pakistan in his presentation. He mentioned that hypertension (also known as high blood pressure) occurs when the pressure of blood against the walls of the arteries becomes excessively high. This is a condition that can be life-threatening or cause further harm if not addressed.
Assistant Professor Dr. Syed Maqsood and Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Naseem, along with House Officer Aisha, also provided a detailed briefing about blood pressure in connection with this day.
